‧Unjustified assessment policy on employees’ performance:2003
The corporate assessment of performance set 10% of the employees whom should be graded “B” which raised thousands of complaint. After a couple of negotiations, the Union called a series of protests from July 2 in 2003 until the unjustified policy had been recalled.
‧Incorporating Night Shift Allowance in average wage basis:2003
The Union had been negotiating with the company over incorporating night shift allowance in average wage basis, which had large impact on employees’ pension. Five-years negotiation did not come out a satisfactory result, therefore, the Union led 1441 members to file a lawsuit against the company on April 7, 2000. The collective lawsuit broke the record of judicial history in Taiwan because of the huge plaintiffs. The Supreme Court finalized and passed the suit on Sep 26, 2003. It was certainly a significant contribution for Taiwanese unions and was widespread quoted by many other unions.
‧Direct Election of the President:2000
On Dec 26, 2000, the Congress approved 「Direct-Election and Recall Act of the President」which was a second to none attempt in the history of Taiwanese Labor Movement. Union’s 1st direct-election of the president was initiated in Nov 2001.
‧Staff Director System:1999
Based on Industrial Democracy, the Union fighted for being Staff Director with success in order to supervise and be involved in corporate policy making. The first Staff Director was generated on May 28, 1999.
‧Incorporating Mandatory Military Service in qualifying years:1998
The Lord Chancellor promulgated in 1998「Incorporating Mandatory Military Service in qualifying years for pension calculation purpose」which only applies for civil service workers. However, this was not justified for China Steel Corporation, which was just privatized a few years ago. The Union called a protest parade for quoting the same rights in privatized enterprises. Two years later, the bill has been ratified on Nov 17th.
‧Collective Agreement:1997
After seven and half years intensively negotiation with the company over collective agreement, the consensus had finally been reached on Feb 14, 1997. This was also another second to none attempt in the history of Taiwanese Labor Movement. The Collective Agreement is granted as a model for many other unions.
‧Defending Employees’ Rights after Privatizing: 1994
On Nov 29,1994, the Union called a sit-down demonstration with 5,000 members participation and successfully achieved 「No layoff, Anti Wage decrease, Anti hedge fund but a Decent Work」after privatization.

The Union also made a great efforts with significant result on other campaigns like 「Requesting the Government stop selling out Corporate stock」、「Employees retaining their holiday quota after privatization」、「Based on company’s best benefit to reconsider whether it should change name」and so on.
